With the tapir being MNS's mascot, it is only fitting that this cuddly version of the Malayan tapir (Tapirus indicus) is accompanying the Paddle for Nature project. With us from the very beginning, even getting to visit the Google Malaysia office during the Media Briefing, this plush toy nicknamed Mamat has been with the Paddle for Nature ground crew all the way from the start, and we're happy to highlight its journey.

~I'm lying alone with my head on the phone,
thinking of you till it hurts~ (channelling Air Supply)
Hi, Mamat here. As you know, Paddle for Nature completed its journey from Kelantan to Langkawi in March last year, so I am having a rest after that non-stop journey. But who am I kidding? Rest is overrated -- it's so much better to be out and about, especially with the lovely crew and the possibility of exploring more of Malaysia. So here I sit at the MNS office, waiting for the call that says Paddle for Nature is resuming. Well, the MNS President did promise something (see the Google Coastline Imagery launch story), so here's to more adventure to come.
While we wait, do check out my photos below to see what I got up to in Paddle for Nature's six-month journey around Peninsular Malaysia.

Posing for posterity before the start of the Paddle for Nature expedition to raise awareness about protecting our seas, coastlines, waters and marine heritage. You wouldn't think the seas affect you, and me, but they do. Here is the team and MNS Kelantan supporters with Hari Raju aka Paddler Bravo 1, because he's crazy brave to be doing this. From left are Nhazlisham Hamdan and Ahmad Aiman Shuib from Google Malaysia, Nurul Ain aka Mommy, Ming Hui, Faedzul Rahman, and MNS Kelantan's Nazahatul Anis Amaludin and Zulhazman Hamzah. And that's me circled, because they forget that I am small and monochrome, and tend to get camouflaged.
